Kath is a neuro-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician.
Kath’s approach to eating disorders, body image and disordered eating comes from a non-diet, weight inclusive perspective. Kath is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician registered with Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders. This means Kath has received specific training and supervision to support individuals experiencing eating disorders and continues to engage in professional development in this space.

Research
Kath is also passionate about contributing to the evidence base in the field of eating disorders and trauma, and she currently holds an academic position. Kath completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Swinburne University of Technology in 2022. She examined the outcomes of a group treatment for women who had experienced complex trauma.
Her current research focuses on weight stigma, complex post-traumatic stress disorders and eating disorders.

Consulting
Kath is one half of Inner Work Consulting. Inner Work Consulting is run by Kath and her long-term colleague and friend Dr Inge Gnatt. Inge and Kath bring an evidence-based, compassionate, and agile approach to workplace wellbeing. They provide workshops, ranging from 30-minute talks to full-day professional development sessions for organisations looking to create psychologically safe workplaces. Their programs are grounded in research and delivered with intention, ensuring strategies are not only credible but also practical and adaptable for real-world impact.

Women’s Trauma Recovery Program
Kath is the lead clinical psychologist of the Women’s Trauma Recovery Program, a 10-week group therapy program run through the Swinburne Psychology Clinic.
The program is based on evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and includes elements of Internal Family Systems Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy.
The goal of the program is to support participants develop emotional understanding and emotion regulation, self-compassion and adaptive coping mechanisms as well as creating a space for individuals to practice and develop interpersonal skills.
